Lumina Design System — Enterprise UI/UX Redesign

Lumina's product had grown through five years of feature additions with no design cohesion. Onboarding took 45 minutes on average, churn was high in the first 30 days, and the support team was overwhelmed with 'how do I…' tickets. The product used three different component libraries inconsistently.

We ran a 3-week UX research sprint — user interviews, heatmaps, and funnel analysis. Findings drove a full Figma component library (Lumina Design System) with 120+ components. We rebuilt the React frontend using the new system, replaced complex data tables with progressive disclosure patterns, redesigned the onboarding wizard into a 5-step guided flow, and introduced contextual help tooltips throughout the app.
